Good evening, everyone! For those who don’t know me, my name is Steve, and I have the immense privilege of being the best man today, even though Simon knows I'm more like the best backup plan! Simon and I go way back – we’re talking about 45 years of friendship, ever since we met at school. Yes, that's right, folks; we’ve been friends longer than most of you in this room have been alive.
Throughout all these years, I've seen Simon at his best and his worst. I tell you, there are enough funny stories to fill a stand-up comedy show, but I'll keep it short for everyone's sake. Remember that karaoke incident in Spain? Or our legendary fancy dress nights on New Year’s Eve? Simon, I’m still amazed you thought dressing as a giant banana was appropriate. You see, Simon has always had this... let's call it a unique sense of humor, especially paired with that dry sense of music.
Then, somewhere along the line, Simon found someone who could match his humor and his tunes. Enter Lynn! The first time Simon introduced me to Lynn at a party, I thought, "Wow, Simon, how did you manage to trick her into liking you?" Lynn, you looked so pretty that night, and it was immediately obvious that you and Simon make the perfect pair. The way you guys harmonize, and not just in karaoke, but in life – it's inspiring.
What makes Simon and Lynn's relationship special is how naturally they gel together.
